This travel guide invites water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers to get to know the lovely and unique area of the Middle Oder. The compact brochure provides information about the waterways, moorings and marinas in the water region and gives tips on the diverse tourist offers, places to stop and excursions in the area.
\nThe travel guide was financially supported by the European Regional Development Fund. The funds come from the Operational Program (2007-2013) for cross-border cooperation between Poland (Lubuskie Voivodeship) and the state of Brandenburg. The German-Polish cooperation here takes place under the motto “Overcoming borders through joint investments in the future”. The team of authors is very keen to make the unique cultural and natural landscape of the Oder region known to a wide audience at home and abroad. Cross-border – Pearls along the Oder <\/strong><\/p>\n Poland’s second longest river rises in the Moravian Oder Mountains near Kozlov and connects the three countries of the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany over a total length of 854 kilometers. From the mouth of the Neisse near Ratzdorf to just before Stettin, the Oder forms the German-Polish border. The river flows into the Szczecin Lagoon and is thus connected to the Baltic Sea. The Oder is navigable from the mouth of the Baltic Sea to Ko\u017ale for a total of 717 kilometers. With its 27 tributaries, the river is one of the most important European rivers. Hydrologically, the navigable river course is divided into the Upper, Middle and Lower Oder. This travel guide describes the area of the Middle Oder in the Lubuskie Voivodeship in the section from G\u0142og\u00f3w via Frankfurt (Oder) to Kostrzyn nad Odr\u0105. In recent years, this part of the Oder has developed into an attractive area for nature lovers, water enthusiasts, canoeists and anglers. With the new water tourism offers, the municipalities of Bytom Odrza\u0144ski, Nowa S\u00f3l, Sulech\u00f3w and Krosno Odrza\u0144skie are continuing a long maritime tradition.
