The southern Baltic Sea coast for motor boaters

Four districts, two visions

Water, light and horizon Over 1,500 kilometers of coastline full of peace and tranquillity. Around 330 kilometers of this is the outer coast between the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula in the west and the Szczecin Lagoon in the east. The protected “inner coast” of the Bodden and lagoon waters is three times as long at almost 1,200 kilometers. The furrowed shoreline of the Bodden waters, which were formed during the Ice Age, is less affected by wind, currents and surf than the compensatory coast of the Baltic Sea.

Description

The southern Baltic coast is perfect for motor boaters. The journey through the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft, the Barther and Saaler Bodden, across the Achterwasser, the Greifswalder Bodden and the entire Stettiner Haff offers the most beautiful Bodden panoramic views for connoisseurs. The cruise suggestions Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft and Boddengewässer and Stettiner Haff take you there. Further east in Pomorskie, the Pętla Żuławska (Vistula-Werder Ring) is almost an insider tip. It can be reached from Gdańsk and has a connection to the Zalew Wiślany (Vistula Lagoon) or the Oberland Canal. The two tour suggestions River Landscapes in the Vistula-Werder Ring and the Vistula-Werder Ring with Vistula Lagoon take you into nature worth discovering.
It could go on without national borders. The International Waterway E70 connects the West and the East via inland waterways. It starts in Rotterdam and Antwerp on the North Sea and runs through five countries up to the Baltic Sea in Lithuania. It would be possible to return via the outer coast. The route leads through the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad and across the Vistula Lagoon (Kaliningrad). However, this is currently only possible for boats flying the Russian, Polish and Lithuanian flags. This means that continuous navigability for everyone else – including via the Pregel and Deime rivers – to the Curonian Lagoon remains just a beautiful vision for the time being.
Nevertheless, there are ways to get to the Pregel Delta from Kaliningrad. Although visa formalities have to be completed, the impressive nature of these undiscovered floodplains makes up for some of the bureaucracy.
The Memel Delta, which consists of a labyrinth of canals, hidden piers and reed-covered banks, has a similarly charming river landscape. Cross the Memel into the Curonian Lagoon. The view of the dune landscape of the Curonian Spit near Nida opens up new horizons. The Klaipėda, Nida and Memel Delta cruise is the perfect way to get to know this region. The cuisine on Bornholm is as diverse as the local nature. There are first-class gourmet restaurants in almost every port. The Bornholm Culinary Tour takes you to the hotspots over nine days.
Those who set out to explore these still relatively unknown areas will be rewarded with new experiences and unseen landscapes, giving them the impression of a boundless journey that could one day become reality.
