They still exist – the inspiring events in Berlin. One of them, which Bernhard Moser probably puts a lot of heart and soul into, is eat! berlin.
When you think of food in Berlin, many people first think of currywurst with or without casing and kebab with everything. But upscale cuisine is often difficult here – compared to other metropolises. This is exactly where eat! berlin comes in: The gourmet festival wants to manifest the culinary arts in Berlin and establish the city as the pleasure capital of Germany.
With over 100 top chefs from Berlin, Germany and the world presenting their skills at exclusive locations, the festival impressively shows what the Berlin gastronomy scene has to offer.
It was more by planned coincidence that I ended up at the closing event at Kalle Berlin. (I’ll refrain from writing down Berlin dialect here – the name is a somewhat loosely pronounced “Halle im historischen Karstadt in der Karl-Marx-Straße”… If that’s said a few times quickly, then that’s it.)
I was particularly pleased that Marco Wahl was presented with the audience award there – absolutely deserved! Congratulations, Marco!
A big thank you to everyone who made this event special. Berlin knows how to enjoy life – and eat! berlin proves it!
