BBQ 2.0 2018-04-16T17:07:04+00:00

Project Description

Whether in the pannier, back box, in the picnic basket or in the briefcase, the plug-in flat design grill “bbq” made of 2.5 mm thick stainless steel requires little storage space and withstands wind and weather. Five individual parts made of solid stainless steel can be screwed and screwed Insert pliers into each other. Ready is the grill. Due to its solid state, it is particularly suitable for windy places such as in a marina, on the beach, on a meadow designated as a barbecue or just for the balcony.

The good-looking grill master for sausage, vegetables and meatballs has a combustion chamber of 2.8 liters and can handle a small amount of charcoal. So that nothing more falls into the coal, the designer has thought along and designed the struts with 6.2 mm particularly broad. The distance is only 7.5 mm. Material and strut width ensure that the heat conduction is optimal and the grill result is perfect.

The air is supplied through the openings on the longitudinal and transverse sides. These are also cut out as the letter “bbq” at the same time. Due to the manufacturing process in the precise laser cut these logos are also individually designed, for example, with certain company logos.

The stainless steel grill “bbq” was developed and realized by the industrial designer Philipp Sack, who made a name for himself with extraordinary ideas with projects in the capital goods sector.

I myself am a passionate grill master and sailor. I have long been annoyed about the labile disposable grill solutions and the pack size of a larger grill is out of the question for a boat. It also has to be easy to set up without any tools and ultimately, for me as a designer, the look and function counts as well. After a period of tinkering I came to the solution of “bbq”

The trick: the packaging is also the cutting board, actually two. The grill fits exactly between the boards, which in turn can be tied together with a fastened strap. So even the packaging has a function.
